Accessibility Features in Sowvia

We believe that learning should be inclusive. Sowvia is designed with cognitive clarity at its core, offering specialized tools to enhance digital reading comfort and maintain visual stamina during long study sessions.

Reading Overlay

A digital focus bar that moves across the page, highlighting one line while gently dimming the rest — preventing line-skipping and reducing visual fatigue.

Irlen Tints

Full-screen colour overlays for visual stress reduction.

Nav Mastery

Full keyboard access for every study action.

SpaceEsc

Reduced Motion

Respects your OS reduced-motion setting automatically — replacing animations with soft cross-fades and eliminating parallax effects.

Detailed guidance

  1. 1Reading Overlay Dynamics

Our reading overlay mimics the physical "Reading Ruler" used in classrooms. When enabled, a horizontal focus bar follows your mouse or keyboard focus, highlighting one to three lines of text while slightly dimming the rest of the page.

    • Adjustable height for different font sizes.
    • Configurable opacity for the background mask.
    • Toggle on/off with a single click.
  2. 2Customizable Tints

For users experiencing Visual Stress (Meares-Irlen Syndrome), high-contrast white backgrounds can cause letters to jump or swirl. Sowvia allows you to apply a global color tint to all study materials.

  3. 3Keyboard navigation

We prioritize a mouse-free experience. Every button, input, and flashcard interaction is mapped to logical keyboard shortcuts to support users with motor impairments or those who prefer rapid keyboard interaction.

  4. 4Motion and Stability

By selecting "Reduced Motion" in your settings, Sowvia replaces sliding card animations with soft cross-fades and eliminates parallax effects, ensuring a stable visual environment.

  5. 5Study Flow Integration

Accessibility settings are synchronized across all your devices. Set your preferences once, and they will follow you from desktop to mobile, maintaining a consistent learning environment.
